The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County is the lead partner, working with the Connecticut Office of the Arts, to launch SpaceFinder Connecticut  - putting Connecticut on the map with New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, Nashville, Chicago, Massachusetts and more - by offering a FREE, state-wide creative space database in support of the creative economy
(Norwalk, CT) The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County (CAFC) is the lead partner, working with the Connecticut Office of the Arts, to launch SpaceFinder Connecticut - putting Connecticut on the map with New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, Nashville, Chicago, Massachusetts and more - by offering A FREE state-wide creative space database to support the creative economy. SpaceFinder, an international project developed by the New York City based arts service organization Fractured Atlas, is a free space match-making service for artists and art and cultural organizations.

Currently, CAFC has a call out for space listings as the program will be fully launched on March 2nd, the same day as the Connecticut Office of the Arts CT Arts Day 2017SpaceFinder Connecticut will be free for renters and for those listing spaces - with the annual fee for the service being covered by the CT Office of the Arts. Before the official launch, CAFC encourages all those with spaces that can be rented for use by arts and culture organizations, artists, dancers, etc., to register for free and list their spaces. Listings can be of all sorts: galleries, churches, theaters, concert halls, historical societies, libraries, banks, etc. Photographs can be uploaded as well as calendars to enable renters to easily see when spaces are available.

To view spaces already listed and available go here: connecticut.spacefinder.org/spaces. To register and list your space for free, go here: connecticut.spacefinder.org/pages/list-your-space.

SpaceFinder Connecticut was originally announced at CAFC's Creative Spaces for the Creative Economy Conference, which occurred on November 12, 2016 at the Bijou Theatre in Bridgeport. As the lead partner, CAFC is introducing SpaceFinder Connecticut first to Fairfield County. When SpaceFinder Connecticut has achieved a critical mass within Fairfield County, CAFC will act as ambassador and work with the Office of the Arts to introduce it to other counties across the state.

Through the SpaceFinder program, Fractured Atlas works across the country, and in Canada, to increase visibility of rental options, helping artists find the space they need to work, while also helping venues promote and rent their spaces. SpaceFinder Connecticut is an important resource to connect and support Connecticut's vital creative economy, and assist in stimulating earned revenue options for under-utilized real estate assets.
