Newcomer students graduate ISSofBC summer camp
August 12 marked graduation day in the Tri-Cities for over 50 immigrant and refugee kids who completed a six-week ISSofBC summer camp.

The purpose of the camp, generously funded by United Way of the Lower Mainland, is to bring immigrant and refugee children into a classroom setting to help them transition into school life and connect with other children.


Over 80 jobseekers attend first Job Success Hiring Fair in Coquitlam

The event included a chance to meet recruiters from Winners, Hard Rock Casino, Natural Foods and Fit Foods during on-site interviews in addition to employer presentations.

Students learn to ride transit during summer field trip to Vancouver

From trains, planes and buses--ISSofBC Tri-Cities LINC students learned about them all including how to use the public transit Compass Card during a field trip to Vancouver late July.

Participants learned the ins and outs of McDonald's, filled out application forms and talked to managers about current job opportunities at ISSofBC Welcome Centre Thursday, July 28.
