FEATURED PROGRAMS
Artist Reception February 19, 1:00-3:00 pm Curtis Goldstein, a Columbus resident and former JCC preschool student, will discuss his work, Memory Project Cols, now on display in the Goldberg Gallery at an artist's reception. The event is FREE, open to the public, and includes light refreshments.

The exhibit, at the JCC through Apr. 10, showcases several sketches of the former JCC building drawn entirely from Goldstein's memories of his childhood spent at the JCC. A noted regional muralist, Goldstein also previously painted three murals for the JCC - in the natatorium, in the hallway near the gym for the 2017 Maccabi Games, and for the JCC New Albany Library. Goldstein received a BFA from the Ohio State University ('90), and an MFA from the University of Cincinnati ('13).

“Rendering people, places and objects from old memories lends a kind of visibility to where memory fails. These drawings have been for me culturally, and spiritually restorative, as I have reflected deeply on my relation to the Columbus Jewish community, but more generally, on how remembrances and letting go of the past are woven into memory.” -- Curtis Goldstein
