Subject: 6 Key Reminders When You Say "I'm Not Good Enough"

HI Friend

Have you broken your New Year’s resolutions yet? If the answer is yes, you’re not alone. Gyms make a fortune signing up well-intentioned members at the beginning of the each year. All of us should set goals to improve ourselves. The problem, arises when we set sky-high expectations and sabotage ourselves with negative thoughts if we don’t get there or quit.

Blaming yourself is unproductive. It prevents you from action. It makes you feel worthless, an unachiever, a loser ~ so, whether it’s a confrontation with your friends, your boss, your partner or yourself, when you hear yourself say that you’re ‘not good enough’.

Here are a few twists of the mind to stop blaming and shaming, and stop beating yourself up:

~ There is no failure:
It’s fine to celebrate success, but it’s more important to heed the lessons of failure ~ Bill Gates. As long as you’ve learned, consider failing a life lesson.

~ It’s temporary: No matter what’s going on, it’s not the end of the world, so don’t dramatize the situation. Remember ‘this too shall pass” Focus on that, and you know what? It will.

~ Perfection: You’re not perfect and neither is anyone else. If you’ve been striving for perfection, it won’t happen. Regardless of the demands of others, if you’ve done your best, let it rest. You can’t be perfect, but you can give it your BEST effort.

~Gratitude: You may feel down, beaten and alone, but no matter how low you are, find something, however small, to be grateful for. It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day struggles, and when you do, you forget that the simple things matter the most. A gratitude list is always helpful to lift you up.

~Seeking approval: Are you a people pleaser? Do you sacrifice yourself to make others happy? Do you feel unappreciated no matter how much you do for others. This behaviour will continue to hurt you. You should not be selfish, but you also should not be self-less. When you have high self esteem you have confidence. Compliments are nice to get, but you don’t need to seek them, nor do you need approval.

~Your thoughts: Remember Henry Ford’s words:
“Whether you think you can, or think you can’t you’re right. Remember, the choice is yours. if you continually beat yourself up, telling yourself that you’re not good enough, or worthless, you’re not helping your cause.

So stop being judgemental. Remember what you say to yourself matters, so when you’re down, be as kind to yourself as you would be to a friend. Things may not be GREAT, but they can still be OK ~ OK is fine. Remember, it can always be worse ~ and by beating yourself up, you’re making it worse.

No matter how dark, trust that you can make things better for yourself. Talk to someone who can help you through the rough spots. Take action, believe in yourself and take ‘baby steps’.  Sooner or later you’ll get there!!

So what do you do? What do you do when you feel down? How do you turn things around? Sharing is caring…..

Be amazing!

Fondly
